Shimmerstar
Shimmerstar's Decree
"My name is Shimmerstar. Um.. My name is Shimmerstar, yes. I've taken the name in honor of our late leader, Fangstar. And I promise to be nothing like the cat I was before: I promise that while we both love Thunderclan with all our heart, I, Shimmerstar, won't be taken advantage of. Thunderclan, will not be taken advantage of. Ever, ever again. Not by any other clan, and most definitely, not by the cats within it." - Shimmerstar
StarClan & Faith
It's hard not to believe and follow in the pawsteps of your ancestors after such a personal and brutal shared experience with them. Shimmerstar died in their paws, her assassination attempt acted during their precious and intimate Leadership ceremony. But, behind closed doors, Shimmerstar is scared and mournful of them most of all: Starclan, even those she lost so recently, can be so.. Unhelpful, and distantly cruel. Why? In the most postive way she can put it, they allow the clans to experience individuality, even through hardship.
Warrior Code
Doubting it and stretching the code's limit is what almost led to Thunderclan's demise, in Shimmerstar's newly discovered perspective. It's time to fully, and loyally, embrace Starclan's given virtues, and allow their guidance to shape and mold Thunderclan into something beautiful and powerful.

THUNDERCLAN VALUES
COURAGE!
Always valuing bravery in the face of danger, ThunderClan cats often override their own sense of safety. Apprentices and warriors alike often dare each other to perform wilder and wilder stunts, jumping from high heights and trying risky maneuvers without a second thought. No matter where, in personal matters to the roar of the battlefield, ThunderClan prides itself on never flinching and always running towards the threat. Of course, this isn’t to say that ThunderClan cats have no fear; they believe that having fear is the most important part of courage, and fear is what allows a cat to rise above it all and prove themselves. ThunderClan cats believe that action matters more than words, and that the best way to prove your love to someone, be it platonic or romantic, is to face your fears in a blaze of glory. This has led places like Furred Hollows and the Rickety Bridge to become places of romance in addition to more typical locations like Secret Glade.
PRIDE!
As anyone who has heard ThunderClan’s announcements at a Gathering can tell you, ThunderClan holds great pride in itself and its members. Many ThunderClanners, when talking to outsiders, will preface themselves as “of ThunderClan” and wear their cultural artifacts for all to see. While not rare amongst all the Clans, ThunderClan cats take it to the next level, viewing Clan pride as a communal treasure, even at grievous personal cost. ThunderClan cats are likely to start conflicts due to being aggrieved, with passions running high and Thunderstar’s legacy weighing heavily upon them. This also encourages a great deal of personal pride, and all cats maintain a fresh and vibrant camp with intensity
LOYALTY!
What is most important to a ThunderClanner, though, is loyalty. Loyalty to one’s Clan is paramount; crimes committed in the service of the Clan are often overlooked, and crimes against its interest are seen as particularly egregious. A cat must be able to give everything to their Clan, with folklore emphasizing that those who put themselves or their family first will curse those around them to ruin. THis extends to personal relationships as well; while not trumping dedication to the Clan, ThunderClanners expect relationships to be steadfast, and infidelity is taboo. In practice, though, cats are close to their family and carry their heritage with them. But, in times of great crisis, all ThunderClan warriors know: They must support their home first. Everything else comes after.
Clan culture
SPECIALITY RANKS
Timbered

The swords of the clan, fearless aficionados, Timbered warriors are cunning adrenaline chasers and take up the most dangerous job in the forest. Trained in the expressive forms of ThunderClan culture, Timbereds are taught to live proudly and to trust the ambitions of one's own heart and instincts. To be Timbered is to learn how to move like the birds and squirrels, how to perfect their movements to adapt into your own, the process of such can often be tedious, grueling and tough, but to experience a whole new territory above the forest floor makes it well worth it.
HEARTHBORN

The shields of the clan, masters in navigation, Hearthborn warriors are taught to live by the system of the forest. A plant feeds the bugs, the bugs feed the prey, the prey feeds the warrior and in turn, the warrior must feed the forest. A Hearthborn will learn and abide by the ecosystem and apply it to other aspects of their life, though ThunderClan must always come first, protection and compassion of the four clans and the importance of an opposing warrior's life is not an uncommon value.
Campminder
If ThunderClan's warriors are its bark, the campminders are its sapwood. They handle the maintenance of camp, such as expanding dens and keeping the fresh kill pile clean, vital tasks for the Clan's health and comfort. They do not participate in border patrols, and by and large are not considered for conflicts on the territory. Only learning self-defense, they nonetheless prove invaluable when crisis comes to camp, leading evacuations and ensuring the safety of those under their care. While a number of campminders do choose this role later in life, a number of apprentices choose this path for their training, learning how to hold the Clan together with moss and love.
MONARCH
Monarchs are cats who wish to devote themselves to the raising and care of their clan’s young. Whether they have had a litter themselves and are temporarily monarchs, or have devoted the rest of their lives to this role. Permamonarchs often take on a familial role for cats who need advice/support in difficult times regardless of their age or rank. A cat must be at least old enough to have kits to become a permamonarch, and permamonarchs cannot be mentors.
TRIAL APPRENTICE
Trial Apprentices are those who must prove their loyalty to the Clan and learn their ways. While still being adults, and treated as such, they do not have the same rights as warriors, since they're unable to mentor a cat or become deputy. They use this time to understand their new way of life, bond with their clanmates, and decide whether ThunderClan is for them. However, some Trial Apprentices are warriors who have broken the Code, and must prove their loyalty to the Clan. Once both groups have completed their training, though, they are welcomed into the Clan as if they had always been there, a beloved Clanmate like any other.
HOLIDAYS
thunder's roar
☀️ GREEN-LEAF
To forgive, to forget, to begin and end, Thunder's Roar can be a moment to reflect not only on one's self but the relationships that a cat holds.
-
Presents are commonly exchanged between cats during this holiday.
-
A proposal during Thunder's Roar would be seen as blessed.
Where other Clans may fear the rumble of an oncoming storm, ThunderClan takes it as a sign of good luck, and a roar of support from their ancient founder.
On the first thunderstorm of Green-Leaf, ThunderClan celebrates the turn of a new year and uses this time to honor not only Thunderstar but their fallen as well.
ThunderClan strongly believes in self-improvement and the chance to be reborn as the best version of yourself. This is a time to make amends, let go of grudges, confess love, and make new personal goals. Cats braving the raging rain and letting it sink into their pelts undergo a rebirth, engaging in an act of “pelt-washing” to gain Thunderstar’s approval.
While the Clan may not forget who they were before, it serves as an opportunity to reflect and make new choices in the future, should they so choose.
ThunderClan is home to the courageous, proud, and fiercely loyal cats of the forest. They value community and family above all else, while strict about their rules of who can join them, outsiders that prove to be able to adapt will be accepted as equals to Clanborn cats. ThunderClan cats also value honesty and openness, preferring to speak frankly without mincing many words, which may lead them to seem thoughtless and unruly to other Clans.
Thunderclan's territory is an impenetrable woodland, decorated with dense foliage that's easy to get lost in. Ferns and thorny-thickets twist at every curve and low hanging branches promise to snag an unfamiliar cat's pelt. To those who have learned its navigation, the forest floor is an oasis to skittering bugs and nests of curious prey. Above your head lays a maze of tangled branches, rising to towering heights and spanning across the full length of the forest, those daring can venture across abandoned twoleg bridges or find themselves in a nasty fight with sharp-toothed red squirrels.
